Do not get too close to thevehicle you wantto pass while you're awaiting an opportunity. Forone thing, followingtoo closely reduces your area of vision, especiallyif you're following larger vehicle. Also, a you won't haveadequate space if the vehicle ahead suddenly slowsor a stops. Keep back reasonable distance. When it looks like a chance to pass is coming up, start to accelerate but stay inthe right lane and don't gettoo close. Time your move so you willbe increasing speed as the time comes to move into the other a lane.
