Refer to the Electric Vehicle Owner's Guide Supplement for scheduled maintenance information. Items for Emission Control Service are shown in italics. Rear axles containing synthetic lubricant are lubricated for life. These lubricants are not to be checked or changed unless a leak is suspected, service required, or the axle has been submerged in water. The axle lubricant should be changed anytime the axle has been submerged in water. Light truck rear axles filled with non-synthetic rear axle lubricant must be changed every 160,000 kilometers (100,000 miles), otherwise, the lubricant is not to be checked or changed unless a leak is suspected, service required or the axle assembly submerged in water. Police and Taxi vehicles: Replace rear axle lubricant every 160,000 kilometers (100,000 miles). Rear axle lubricant change may be waived if the axle was filled with 75W140 synthetic gear lubricant meeting Ford specification WSL-M2C192-A, part number F1TZ-19580-B or equivalent. Add four ounces of additive friction modifier C8A2-19B546-A (EST-M2C118-A) or equivalent for complete refill of Traction-Lok rear axles. The rear axle lubricant should be changed anytime the axle has been submerged in water. (1) Wheel lug nuts must be retightened to proper torque specifications at 800 km (500 miles) of new vehicle operation (160 kilometers [100 miles] and 800 kilometers [500 miles for vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels or equipped for snowplowing. Proper torque specifications are provided in your Owners Guide. Also retighten to proper torque specifications at 800 km (500 miles) after (A) any wheel change or (B) any other time the wheel lug nuts have been replaced. (2) At 96,000 kilometers (60,000 miles) your dealer will replace the PCV valve at no cost except on Canada and California vehicles. (3) If operating in severe dust, more frequent intervals may be required. Consult your dealer. 5
