3ware Hardware Installation If you are using a standard enclosure, connect each of the individual SATA connectors to a drive. Install the Drives 1 If your drives are not already installed, install them now, either by attaching them to the backplane, or by installing them in the computer chassis. 2 Be sure that the power supply is connected to either the backplane or the individual drives. If you are using a standard enclosure, connect each of the individual

Install the Drives

After all of the drives are connected to the ATA RAID Controller and it is
installed in its slot, verify that the cables do not interfere with the opera-
tion of any other components in the case or block the flow of cooling air.

Close the case and reconnect the power cables.
Check motherboard boot sequence
Using your computer’s Setup utility, ensure that your boot device precedes the
Escalade ATA RAID Controller in the boot sequence. If you have other disks
installed on the motherboard, the ATA RAID Controller precedes them in
boot order.
