Set User Password, Bypassing the Password, RTC Battery

Set User Password IMPORTANT:To show the "Set User Password": e 1. Choose "Set Supervisor Password" and press . e 2. Type the password and then press . e 3. Confirm the password, and then press . 4. The screen as below with "Set User Password" enabled will be shown. To set a password: 1. At the prompt, type your password. Your password can be up to 8 alphanumeric characters. When you type the characters, they appear as asterisks on the password screen box. e 2. After typing the password, press . e 3. At the next prompt, re-type your password and press again to confirm the new password. After the password entry, the screen automatically reverts to the main screen. e To disable the password, press when prompted to enter the password. The screen displays a message confirming that the password has been disabled. Bypassing the Password If you forgot your password, you can bypass the password security feature through hardware configuration. RTC Battery Follow these steps to bypass the password: 1. Turn off and unplug the system. 2. Open the system housing. Take off battery and short it. 3. Place on RTC battery, reboot the system and enter setup menu, to load default setting. 49 Chapter 2
