Capturing and scanning images When scanning photos, check the scanner driver settings to see if you can save the images in the Adobe RGB color space. If you are using the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in for processing raw image data from a digital camera, you can easily convert to a standard RGB working space while preserving as much color and tone information from the original capture as possible. Camera Raw also controls how the raw data is rendered into a common format such as JPEG, TIFF, or PSD. The default color space that Camera Raw renders color into is Adobe RGB (1998). This is the color space we will use for this workflow. To find out whether your camera works with the Camera Raw plug-in, visit www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html. Camera Raw gives you the option of rendering colors into one of four color spaces. For more information, about relative color spaces, see "Chapter 6: Advanced Topics." Saving images with embedded profiles After editing in Photoshop CS2 for good overall color, save the image using the Adobe RGB profile, so another user can understand how the file was originally created and the intended color appearance. To save files with an embedded profile: 1. Choose File > Save. You can save the file in .tiff, .psd, .pdf, or .jpeg format. 2. Select Embed Color Profile.
