4. Configure Wireless Utility This section describes the various functions of the Airlink101® Wireless Utility that you can configure. The general layout will be described here, and the features of each tab will be described in the following sections. 4.1 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.5 4.6 4.7 RF Icon: Click the RF icon to turn the wireless function on/off. Security Icon: Displays the current security status (locked/unlocked). Signal Strength: Displays the signal strength of the wireless connection SSID: The SSID of the wireless access point or wireless device you selected will be displayed here. Rate: Displays the link speed of data transmitting (Tx, in Mbps) and receiving (Rx, in Mbps). Link speed is the current available data transfer speed of the wireless connection. It depends on the radio signal quality of wireless connection. Channel: Displays the radio channel being used now. IP Address: Shows the IP address of the PC being used. Mask: Shows the subnet of the current network. 11

RF Icon
: Click the RF icon to turn the wireless function on/off.
Security Icon:
Displays the current security status (locked/unlocked).
Signal Strength:
Displays the signal strength of the wireless connection
SSID:
The SSID of the wireless access point or wireless device you selected will be
displayed here.
Rate:
Displays the link speed of data transmitting (Tx, in Mbps) and receiving (Rx, in
Mbps). Link speed is the current available data transfer speed of the wireless
connection. It depends on the radio signal quality of wireless connection.
Channel:
Displays the radio channel being used now.
IP Address:
Shows the IP address of the PC being used.
