2.8 Removable/optional components You may need to remove previously installed system components when installing or removing system devices. Or you may need to install the optional components into the system. This section tells how to remove/install the following components: 1. System fans 2. Redundant power supply units 3. ASUS PIKE RAID card (optional) Ensure that the system is turned off before removing any components. 2.8.1 System fans To uninstall the system fans 1. Disconnect the system fan cable from the fan connector on the motherboard and carefully remove the system fan cable from the cable holder. 2. Lift the fan then set aside. 3. You may need to remove previously installed system components when installing or removing
system devices. Or you may need to install the optional components into the system. This
section tells how to remove/install the following components:

System fans

Redundant power supply units
3.
ASUS PIKE RAID card (optional)
Ensure that the system is turned off before removing any components.

System fans
To uninstall the system fans
1.
Disconnect the system fan cable from
the fan connector on the motherboard
and carefully remove the system fan
cable from the cable holder.
2.
Lift the fan then set aside.
3.
Repeat step 1 to 2 to uninstall the other
system fans.
