2 Knowing the Parts 8 Audio Speaker The built-in stereo speaker system allows you to hear audio without additional attachments. The multimedia sound system features an integrated digital audio controller that produces rich, vibrant sound (results improved with external stereo headphones or speakers). Audio features are software controlled. 9 Capital Lock Indicator Indicates that capital lock [Caps Lock] is activated when lighted. Capital lock allows some of the keyboard letters to type using capitalized letters (e.g. A, B, C). When the capital lock light is OFF, the typed letters will be in the lower case form (e.g. a,b,c). 10 Illuminate Keyboard (on selected models) The illuminate keyboard provides full-sized keys with comfortable travel (depth at which the keys can be depressed) and palm rest for both hands. Two Windows function keys are provided to help ease navigation in the Windows operating system. The keyboard automatically adjusts the brightness when the light sensor is turned on. Or, you can use functions keys to manually increase and decrease the keyboard lightness. 11 Illuminate Interactive Touchpad and Buttons (on selected models) The illuminate interactive touchpad with its buttons is a pointing device that provides the same functions as a desktop mouse. A software-controlled scrolling function is available after setting up the included touchpad utility to allow easy Windows or web navigation. The touchpad automatically adjusts the brightness when the light sensor is turned on. You can disabled the touchpad function to dim the touchpad. 12 Status Indicators (front) Status indicators represent various hardware/software conditions. See indicator details in section 3. 14
