Preparation Preparing to Embroider Embroidery Foot No. 26 ► to embroider attach presser foot No. 26 to the embroidery computer and raise the presser foot Embroidery Needle ► depending on the embroidery thread, use a no. 75 to no. 90 needle ► special embroidery or Metafil needles for embroidery with metallic threads ► use a needle which is not damaged ► raise the needle Straight Stitch Plate (Optional Accessory) ► the straight stitch plate has a small needle hole. The needle insertion area (interlocking of upper and lower thread) is limited and the stitching therefore optimized for nicer results ► remove standard stitch plate and replace it with the straight stitch plate Threading the Bobbin A B ► pull thread to the right through slit A and to the left under the spring ► hold thread in curve of bobbin-case stop and guide along edge, holding far to the right, until it catches ► guide thread to left, pull over thread cutter B and cut off Check the threading path After threading the hook, hold the mirror under the swung-out hook unit as shown in the pictures below. ► Position of bobbin thread when threaded for embroidery 123
