Placing the Speakers: Generally, placementclose to the 7Vscreenprovides themost realisticsound. Since the Video RoomMate systemismagnetically shielded, it can beplaced directlynext toa TVscreen without causingpictureinterference. Iflonger distancesarerequiredbetween the speakers, simply replace the speaker wire(supplied) witha suitablelengthof 18-gauge(75mm)speaker wire. Makesureyoufollow the directions under the "HookingUp"section. 2. Care and Maintenance The VideoRoomMatesystemrequires verylittlemaintenance. Occasional cleaningshouldbe done witha damp cloth WHILE THE SYSTEM IS UNPLUGGED. Never use any chemicals to clean yoursystem, andneverallowliquids ofanykind to enter the unit's openings. To avoidpotentialproblemsand hazards, please observe the following: et, a. Avoidplacingthesystemneardir heat sources such as radiators, stoves, otherappliances, etc. Avoid placingthesystemin directsunlight. Make sure the system has adequate ventilation. b. Makesure that theavailable voltage is compatible with theunitbeforeitis plugged in. c. Makesureallpowerandspeaker cordsarelocated where they willnot besteppedon, pinchedorcut. d. Ifyouplanonnotusingthe system foranylengthoftime, makesure you unplugitfrom the walloutlet. Always unplug theunitbygrasping theplug itself. Neverpulltheplugoutby the cord. Duringnormaluse,makesure the volume controlis turneddown when the systemis not beingplayed. e. Donotletthesystemget wet. Adjusting
Tone:
The
Video
Room
-
Mate
system
incorporates
a
preset
equalizer
for
proper
bass
and
treble
balance.
This
tone
setting
cannot
be
adjusted.
However;
any
tone
controls
on
the
source
unit
(such
as
the
tone
control
on
a
TV)
can
be
used
when
the
source
unit
is
playing
through
the
Video
RoomMate
system.
Placing
the
Speakers:
Generally,
placement
close
to
the
7Vscreen
pro-
vides
the
most re
alistic
sound.
Since
the
Video
RoomMate
system
is
mag-
netically
shielded,
it
can
be
placed
directly
next
to
a
TV
screen
without
causing
picture
interference.
If
longer
distances
are
required
between
the
speakers,
simply
replace
the
speaker
wire
(supplied)
with
a
suitable
length
of
18
-gauge
(75
mm)
speaker
wire.
Make
sure
you
follow
the
directions
under
the
"Hooking
Up"
section.
2.
Care
and
Maintenance
The
Video
RoomMate
system
requires
very
little
maintenance.
Occasional
cleaning
should
be
done
with
a
damp
cloth
WHILE
THE
SYSTEM
IS
UNPLUGGED.
Never
use
any
chemicals
to
clean
your
system,
and
never
allow
liquids
of
any
kind
to
enter
the
unit's
openings.
To
avoid
potential
problems
and
hazards,
please
observe
the
following:

Avoid
placing
the
system
near
dir
heat
sources
such
as
radiators,
stoves,
other
appliances,
etc.
Avoid
placing
the
system
in
direct
sunlight.
Make
sure
the
system
has
adequate
ventilation.
b.
Make
sure
that
the
available
voltage
is
compatible
with
the
unit
before
it
is
plugged
in.
c.
Make
sure
all
power
and
speaker
cords
are
located
where
they
will
not
be
stepped
on,
pinched
or
cut.
d.
If
you
plan
on
not
using
the
system
for
any
length
of
time,
make
sure
you
unplug
it
from
the
wall
outlet.
Always
unplug
the
unit
by
grasping
the
plug
itself.
Never
pull
the
plug
out
by
the
cord.
During
normal
use,
make
sure
the
volume
control
is
turned
down
when
the
system
is
not
being
played.

Do
not
let
the
system
get
wet.
Do
not
operate
it
near
bathtubs,
swimming
pools,
sinks,
etc.
