3 BUILT-IN STITCHES Straight stitching Straight stitches are used for sewing plain seams. Stitch Name Pattern Stitch Stitch Length Width 37 27 [mm (inch)] [mm (inch)] We recommend that you sew using the Straight Stitch at the beginning and end of zigzag stitches. (This acts as a reinforcement stitch.) Straight Stitch 2 1-4 (1/16-3/16) ■ Satin stitch Setting the Zigzag Stitch length in the "F"-"1" range 0-5* produces a satin stitch (close zigzag stitch). You can use a triple stretch stitch for sewing stretch fabrics. Blind Hem Stitch: sewing on non-stretch fabrics. Stretch Blind Hem Stitch: for stretch fabrics. ■ Zigzag stitch Turn the pattern selection dial to the Zigzag Stitch, and then start sewing. Memo ● When the size of cylindrical pieces is too small to slide onto the arm or the length is too short, the fabric will not feed and desired results may not be achieved.
