Various Shooting Methods 109 Switching between Metering Modes See Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode (p. 214). Shooting Mode The following metering modes are available. Evaluative Center Weighted Avg. Spot Center AF Point Appropriate for standard shooting conditions, including backlit scenes. The camera divides images into several zones for metering. It evaluates complex lighting conditions, such as the position of the subject, the brightness, the direct light, and the backlighting, and adjusts the settings to the correct exposure for the main subject. Averages the light metered from the entire frame, but gives greater weight to the subject matter at the center. Meters within the spot metering frame. Fixes the spot metering frame to the center of the LCD monitor. Causes the position of the spot metering frame to correspond to the AF frame. 1 Change the metering method. 1. Press the button. 2.
