Maintenance
Cleaning the Print Heads
If the imprinter print head nozzles are dirty, printing may
become streaked or spotty. To prevent this, periodically
remove the ink cartridge and clean the print head with a soft,
dry cloth or cotton swab.
CAUTION
Do not touch the metal contacts on the ink cartridge. Doing so may
cause poor connections, resulting in poor print quality.
Cleaning Out Excess Ink (Pre-Imprinter)
When using the pre-imprinter, document pages are
transported while the ink is still wet, so the platen roller
and scanning glass will pick up ink, eventually resulting in
streaks in images or soiled documents.
Therefore, when using the pre-imprinter, regularly wipe
any ink from the rollers and scanning glass with a
moistened and well wrung-out cloth.
IMPORTANT
If excess ink is not removed, streaks will appear in images, and
documents will be soiled. Clean up excess ink carefully and
regularly.
When scanning many documents daily, clean after
approximately every 10,000 pages.
In any case, we recommend cleaning at least once at the end
of each day.
