Choosing the AF Method Choose a method of auto focusing (AF) for the subject and scene you are shooting. 1 button → [ option ] → choose an +Tracking Spot AF 1-point AF Shoot with the focus on the face of the main subject, as determined by the camera. Subjects are tracked within a certain range. Autofocus with an AF point smaller than for 1-point AF. The camera focuses using a single AF point. Effective for reliable focusing. zz Focusing may take longer or be incorrect when subjects are dark or lack contrast, or in very bright conditions. +Tracking zz After you aim the camera at the subject, a white frame is displayed around the face of the main subject as determined by the camera. zz If no faces are detected when you aim the camera at people, pressing the shutter button halfway displays green frames around other areas in focus. zz With the following subjects, faces may not be detected. -- Subjects that are distant or extremely close -- Subjects that are dark or light -- Faces in profile, at an angle, or partly hidden zz The camera may misinterpret non-human subjects as faces. 150
