7 FE Lock FE (flash exposure) lock enables you to lock the correct flash exposure for any part of the picture. With displayed on the LCD panel, you press the camera's button. If the camera does not have the button, press the button. 1 Focus the subject. 2 Press the button. (3) Aim the viewfinder center over the subject and press the button. X A preflash will be fired to obtain a flash exposure reading for the subject. X "FEL" will be displyed on the LCD panel for 0.5 sec. Each time you press the button, a preflash will be fired and a new flash exposure reading will be locked. If the subject is too far away and underexposure will result, the icon will blink in the viewfinder. Move closer to the subject and try the FE lock again. If is not displayed on the LCD panel, FE lock will not be possible. If the subject is too small, FE lock might not be very effective. 15
