• When focus priority is activated, if face detection ( 70) is also activated, the camcorder will focus on the face of the main subject (white face-detection frame) when one is detected. [Image Stabilizer]: The image stabilizer compensates for camcorder shake. You can select the degree of compensation. [ Dynamic]: This setting compensates for a higher degree of camcorder shake, such as when shooting while walking, and is more effective as the zoom approaches full wide angle. [ Standard]: This setting compensates for a lower degree for camcorder shake, such as when shooting while remaining stationary, and is suitable for shooting natural-looking scenes. [ On ]: This setting compensates for camcorder shake when shooting photos. • If the degree of camcorder shake is too high, the image stabilizer may not be able to fully compensate. • When recording movies with the optional Wide-converter or Tele-con- verter attached to the camcorder, set the image stabilizer to [ Standard]. • We recommend setting the image stabilizer to [ Off] when using a tripod. [AGC Limit]: Sets a maximum value for the automatic gain control. • When recording in dark places, the lower the maximum AGC limit, the darker the scene will be recorded. • The highest gain levels will be available when set to [ Automatic]. • This function can also be assigned to the custom key/dial ( 81). [Auto Slow Shutter]: The camcorder automatically uses slow shutter speeds to obtain brighter recordings in places with insufficient lighting. • Minimum shutter speed used: 1/30; 1/12 when the frame rate is set to [ PF24]; 1/15 when it is set to [ PF30]. • The auto slow shutter can only be activated when the recording pro- gram is set to [ Programmed AE], but the setting will not change even if you set the camcorder to mode. • If a trailing afterimage appears, set the slow shutter to [ Off]. • If (camcorder shake warning) appears, we recommend stabilizing the camcorder, for example, by mounting it on a tripod. [Wind Screen]: The camcorder automatically reduces the background sound of wind when recording outdoors. • Some low-frequency sounds will be suppressed along with the sound of wind.
