6-26 Compaq Parallel Database Cluster Model PDC/O2000 for Oracle8i and Windows 2000 Administrator Guide Secure Path Manager is the cluster management component of Secure Path. Secure Path Manager provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) utility that: I Reports the status of the I/O paths in each redundant FC-AL or redundant Fibre Channel Fabric. I Reports disk status (path assignment, failover, and failback activity). I Enables automatic drive failback upon path restoration. It is recommended that Secure Path Manager GUI remain active (or minimized) to provide continuous Secure Path status monitoring. IMPORTANT: If you make changes to the Secure Path Agent Configuration, the changes will not go into effect until you stop and restart the Secure Path Agent Service. From Administrative Tools, open the Services screen, select "Secure Path Agent," and restart it by right-clicking on it or selecting Restart from the tool bar. Monitoring Storage Systems The Storage System View of Secure Path Manager displays each RA4000/RA4100 Array, configured array controllers, and associated storagesets. When you highlight a storageset in Storage System View, Secure Path Manager displays information about the physical I/O paths from each node to that storageset. The following information is displayed for each path: I The Secure Path host system (node) that has an established access path to the storageset. I The array controller servicing the path. I The physical port number of the Fibre Host Adapters servicing the path. This is a relative number determined by Windows 2000's order of discovery for Fibre Host Adapters on that node. I The physical Bus, Target, and logical drive numbers describing the path address for the storageset. I A user-selectable Path Mode parameter that specifies path behavior during nominal and failure conditions. Path Mode may be set to Preferred, Alternate, Pre-Offline (Preferred and Offline), or Alt-Offline (Alternate and Offline). I A set of State attributes that describe the current operational condition of the path. Paths may exist in Active, Failed, or Available states.
