To assign system users: 1. Click Configuration > SMNP Settings >SNMP User Table. The SNMP User Table Page opens: Figure 2-14 SNMP User Table Page The SNMP User Table Page contains the following fields: Field User Name Description Defines the SNMP user name included in the SNMP user group. Group Name Defines the SNMP group and assigned to a user. SNMP V3 Encryption Defines the SNMPv3 user authentication method. The possible field values are: None -No user authentication is used. Password - Provides user authentication via the HMAC-SHA-96 authentication level password or HMAC-MD5-96 password. Key - Provides user authentication via the HMAC-MD5 algorithm or the HMACSHA-96 authentication level. Auth-Protocol by Password Selects the authentication password type used to authenticate users. The possible field values are: MD5 - Defines that HMAC-MD5-96 password is used for authentication. SHA - Defines that HMAC-SHA-96 authentication level password is used for authentication. Password Defines the password used for authentication. (1-32 digits). Confirm Password Confirms the password used for authentication. (1-32 digits). 44

Defining SNMP Users
The
SNMP User Table Page
enables assigning system users to SNMP groups and defining the user authentication method.
To assign system users:

Configuration > SMNP Settings >SNMP User Table.

Field
Description
User Name
Defines the SNMP user name included in the SNMP user group.
Group Name
Defines the SNMP group and assigned to a user.
SNMP V3 Encryption
Defines the SNMPv3 user authentication method. The possible field values are:
None
—No user authentication is used.
Password
— Provides user authentication via the HMAC-SHA-96 authentication
level password or HMAC-MD5-96 password.
Key
— Provides user authentication via the HMAC-MD5 algorithm or the HMAC-
SHA-96 authentication level.
Auth-Protocol by Password
Selects the authentication password type used to authenticate users. The possible field
values are:
MD5 —
Defines that HMAC-MD5-96 password is used for authentication.
SHA —
Defines that HMAC-SHA-96 authentication level password is used for
authentication.
Password
Defines the password used for authentication. (1-32 digits).
Confirm Password
Confirms the password used for authentication. (1-32 digits).
