5 5 MONITORING THE MODEM Once you have installed the Modem you can monitor the status of the ADSL connection by clicking on the connection icon in your System Tray or click on the DSL-200 icon in the Control Panel folder. Clicking on either icon will bring up the following window: The bright green light under the screen indicates a valid link. The screen indicates the current state of you modem, the modulation and the Rx and the Tx data rates. On startup, the modem will automatically "train", or load the settings in your modem. Shortly after the training process, the screen below will appear, now showing your state as (receiving) Data.
