Section 4 - Connecting to a Wireless Network Connecting to a Wireless Network Using Windows 8 It is recommended to enable wireless security (WPA/WPA2) on your wireless router or access point before configuring your wireless adapter. If you are joining an existing network, you will need to know the security key (Wi-Fi password) being used. To join an existing network, locate the wireless network icon in the taskbar, next to the time display. Clicking on this icon will display a list of wireless networks which are within connecting proximity of your computer. Select the desired network by clicking on the network name. It is recommended to enable wireless security (WPA/WPA2) on your wireless router or access point before configuring your
wireless adapter. If you are joining an existing network, you will need to know the security key (Wi-Fi password) being used.
To join an existing network, locate the wireless network icon in the taskbar, next to
the time display.

Clicking on this icon will display a list of wireless networks which are within connecting
proximity of your computer. Select the desired network by clicking on the network
name.
