Procedure 1 Replace the power-button board. 2 Align the screw holes on the palm rest with the screw holes on the computer base and snap the palm rest into place. 3 Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base. 4 Slide the touch-pad cable and power-button cable into the connectors and close the latches to secure the cables. 5 Close the display and turn the computer over. 6 Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base. Post-requisites 1 Replace the keyboard. 2 Follow the procedure from step 4 to step 6 in "Replacing the hard drive". 3 Replace the battery. 4 Replace the base cover. 38

Procedure

Replace the
power-button board

Align the screw holes on the palm rest with the screw holes on the
computer base and snap the palm rest into place.

Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base.

Slide the touch-pad cable and power-button cable into the connectors
and close the latches to secure the cables.
