After working inside your computer, follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9. Procedure 1 Align the palm-rest to the computer base. 2 Press down on the palm-rest to snap it into place. 3 Slide the status-lights board cable, touchpad cable, touchpad status-light cable, and the hot-key board cable into their connectors and press down on the connector latches to secure the cables. 4 Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest to the computer base. 5 Close the display and turn the computer over. 6 Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest to the computer base. 7 Replace the rubber screw-caps. Postrequisites 1 Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 25. 2 Replace the optical drive assembly. See "Replacing the Optical-Drive Assembly" on page 19. 3 Follow the instructions from step 3 and step 4 in "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 15. 4 Follow the instructions in "After Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9. Procedure
1
Align the palm-rest to the computer base.

Press down on the palm-rest to snap it into place.
3
Slide the status-lights board cable, touchpad cable, touchpad status-light cable,
and the hot-key board cable into their connectors and press down on the
connector latches to secure the cables.
4
Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest to the computer base.

Close the display and turn the computer over.

Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest to the computer base.
7
Replace the rubber screw-caps.
Postrequisites
1
Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 25.

Replace the optical drive assembly. See "Replacing the Optical-Drive Assembly" on
page 19.

Follow the instructions from step 3 and step 4 in "Replacing the Memory Module(s)"
