Playing the Sound From the TV 1 Select the input function using [INPUT]. The input function is displayed for about 5 seconds on the display. ( ~ , ) 2 Select the surround mode using [MODE SELECT]. Mode MOVIE STEREO MUSIC NEWS Display (lit for about 5 seconds) Features Provides the atmosphere of an expansive sound field for movie sources. This mode is suited for 2-channel music sources, providing the atmosphere of a sound field played from directly in front, like a 2-channel stereo system. This mode is suited for playing live music sources, playing music with an expansive sound field that seems to envelop you. This mode makes TV news programs and the dialogues of drama programs easier to hear. b The surround mode is set to "MOVIE" upon purchase. b Depending on the source being played, it may not be possible to achieve a satisfactory effect. In this case, try other modes to create a sound field to your liking. b When playing the sound of a TV, the volume may increase suddenly when a commercial starts. This is because the audio input signal has switched, and is not a malfunction. If the difference in volume level bothers you, we recommend using the "MOVIE" or "MUSIC" mode in which there is less difference in volume between different signals. 4 Use [VOLUME] to adjust the volume. The volume level is displayed. b The volume can be adjusted from 0 to 34. Turning the Sound Off Temporarily Press [MUTE]. The volume level appears on the display and the power indicator flashes green. b Either press [MUTE] again or adjust the volume to cancel the mute mode. Boosting the Bass Sound Press [SDB]. The current setting appears on the display for about 5 seconds. b The mode switches between "On ( )" and "Off ( )" if [SDB] is pressed again while the current setting is displayed. b This mode is set to "On" upon purchase. When Listening With the Volume Turned Down at Night, etc. When set to "On" while listening with the volume turned down at night, etc., the dialogues, etc., are easier to understand. Press [NIGHT MODE].
