PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION Tool will not start. The extension cord and/or plug is defective. Have the extension cord and/or plug checked by a qualified electrician and replaced if necessary. Internal componets too hot. Allow tool to cool down. Brushes worn out. Have brushes replaced by an authorized DeWALT service center. Reduced Power. The extension cord is too long and/or its gauge Use an extension cord of an approved length and/or of is inadequate. adequate gauge. The speed dial is set to a lower setting.
