Appendix Troubleshooting Problem/Question My nüvi never gets satellite signals. My nüvi does not charge in my vehicle. My battery does not stay charged for very long. How do I clear all my user data? My battery gauge does not seem accurate. The touch screen is not responding to my touches. Solution/Answer Take your nüvi out of parking garages and away from tall buildings and trees. Remain stationary for several minutes. Check the fuse in the vehicle power cable (see page 39). Ensure the vehicle is turned on and is supplying power to the power outlet. Your nüvi can only charge between 32°F and 140°F (between 0°C and 60°C). If the nüvi is placed in direct sunlight or in a hot environment, it cannot charge. To maximize the time between charges, turn down the backlight. Touch Tools > Settings > Display > Brightness. Hold your finger on the lower‑right corner of the nüvi screen while it is turning on. Keep your finger pressed until the message appears. Touch Yes to clear all user data. Allow the unit to fully discharge, and fully charge it (without interrupting the charge cycle).
