Chapter 6: Configuring your RAID solutions Important When you press CTRL + E to configure the SATA RAID controller, the error message: Error (0146): Insufficient Memory to Shadow PCI ROM may appear. This error message is produced because the BIOS does not have sufficient memory to load the SATA RAID option ROM into memory because other option ROMs are already loaded. This is not a functional problem and can be disregarded. If you receive this message, press F1 to continue. 9 Configure the RAID options, then exit the RAID BIOS console. 10 Reboot the server. To configure the SATA RAID solution: 1 Open the BIOS Setup utility as described in the previous procedure. 2 Select Configure from the Management menu, then select Easy Configuration. 3 Press the SPACEBAR to associate the selected physical drives with the current array. The indicator changes from READY to ONLINE. 4 Press Enter when you finish creating the current array, then press F10 to select configurable arrays. 112 www.gateway.com

Configure the RAID options, then exit the RAID BIOS console.

Reboot the server.
To configure the SATA RAID solution:

Open the BIOS Setup utility as described in the previous procedure.

Important
When you press
C
TRL
+ E
to configure the SATA RAID controller,
the error message:
