Installation Instructions CONNECTING APPLIANCE USING 3-WIRE CONNECTION 1 Remove the terminal block cover located at the rear of the dryer. 3-WIRE CONNECTION (UNGROUNDED NEUTRAL) This appliance is manufactured with the neutral connected to the frame. If local codes do not permit neutral grounding, proceed as follows: 2 Install a UL-recognized strain relief in the one-inch hole on the dryer back below the terminal block opening. 3 Install a UL-listed 30A, 3-conductor NEMA 10-30R- type SRDT cord with 3 open-end spade lug connectors with upturned ends or closed loop connectors. 4 Connect the center wire of the power cord to the silver-colored center terminal screw on the terminal block. Tighten the screw securely. Center silver-colored screw 5 Connect the two other wires of the power cord to the outer brass-colored terminals on the terminal block. Tighten the screws securely. 6 Tighten the screws securing the power cord to the strain relief. 7 Reinstall the terminal block cover. CAUTION: Be sure electricity is OFF at power source (circuit breaker/fuse box). 8 Plug power cord into electrical outlet. 9 Return to Step 15 on page 3. NOTE: THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT APPROVED FOR 120-VOLT OPERATION. 10 Remove the terminal block access cover. 10A Disconnect the green ground wire from the green ground screw. 10B Connect green ground wire to center (silver- colored) terminal of terminal block. 10C Connect a separate grounding wire (No. 12 or heavier-not supplied) between the green ground screw and a grounded metal cold water pipe or other established ground. Ground clamp attach to metal cold water pipe Ground wire #12 minimum (not supplied) Green ground screw Green ground wire Center silver-colored screw 10D Reinstall the terminal block access cover. CAUTION: Be sure electricity is OFF at power source (circuit breaker/fuse box). 10E Plug power cord into electrical outlet. 10F Return to Step 15 on page 3. NOTE: THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT APPROVED FOR 120-VOLT OPERATION. 5
