Quick Service Checklist PROBLEM Freezer is not working. POSSIBLE CAUSE ■ Power cord has been removed or loosened from the electrical wall outlet. ■ House fuse has been blown-out or circuit breaker has tripped. • O WHAT TO DO ■ Plug the power cord properly into its electrical wall outlet. ■ Replace blown-out fuse or reset tripped circuit breaker. Motor operates continuously for long periods. Motor stops and starts frequently. ■ Modern freezers with more storage space or larger compartments will require more operating time. ■ Freezer is overloaded. ■ Freezer lid is opened frequently or was left open, especially in hot weather. ■ The Quick Freeze Switch is ON. ■ Temperature control dial is not set properly. ■ Freezer is installed near a heat source. ■ Poor air circulation around the condenser. ■ When your freezer is newly installed, it normally requires 24 hours to cool down. ■ Arrange food properly for proper circulation of cold air. Avoid overloading. ■ Refrain from unnecessary opening of freezer. ■ Set this switch off. ■ Set the temperature control to proper setting. ■ Move the freezer away from the source of heat. ■ Provide at least 25mm clearance between the freezer back and the wall. ■ The temperature control stops and starts the motor to maintain even temperatures. ■ These sounds are normal while your freezer is in operation. Vibrating or rattling sounds. ■ Freezer may now be resting solidly on the floor or the floor is weak or uneven. ■ Move the freezer so that it is positioned solidly on a strong, even floor. tre 00 10 Basic Safety Tips Follow the instructions and installation requirements in this Use and Care Guide. Use your freezer only for the purpose it is intended. Do not allow children to play, climb, stand or hang on the shelves of your freezer. Be careful not to damage the power cord by rolling the freezer over it or loosening joints by pulling or jerking on the cord. Have any damaged power cord immediately replaced by a qualified serviceman to avoid any electrical hazards. Al o Always unplug your freezer before: ■ cleaning ■ making any repairs To unplug your freezer, grip plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet. Do not jerk or pull on the power cord. Do not use any electrical devices or sharp objects in defrosting your freezer.
