By removing the carafe, the flow of coffee from the bottom of the filter basket will stop. w CAUTION Burn Hazard. The carafe must be replaced within 20 seconds of being removed to prevent overflow. When finished, press I/ (ON/ OFF) button once and unplug. NOTE: If the coffee maker is not turned off manually, it will shut off automatically in 2 hours and the power light will turn off. Tips: • Always reset the scale if not at "0" before adding ground coffee. Scale will count up to 16 scoops of regular ground coffee. • For a stronger brew, up to 16 scoops of coffee can be used for the maximum 12-cup carafe. • To avoid overflow, use about 1/3 less grounds when brewing decaf or flavored coffees. • When using a permanent filter, do not exceed 12 scoops of coffee. 5
