INSTALLATION OF MULTIPLE HEAT PUMPS If a heat pump pool heater sizing calculation indicates that two or more pool heaters will be required to heat a single pool, the units are to be installed for parallel operation. Series plumbing reduces efficiencies of each heat pump downstream. The diagram below shows installation of two units in parallel.
