The syntax for this command is mkdir directory name This example creates a directory called test in the slot0 directory. switch# mkdir slot0:test This example creates a directory called test at the current directory level. switch# mkdir test If the current directory is slot0:mydir, this command creates a directory called slot0:mydir/test. Deleting an Existing Directory The rmdir command deletes an existing directory at the current directory level or at a specified directory level. The directory must be empty to be deleted. The syntax for this command is rmdir directory name This example deletes the directory called test in the slot0 directory. switch# rmdir slot0:test This example deletes the directory called test at the current directory level. switch# rmdir test If the current directory is slot0:mydir, this command deletes the slot0:mydir/test directory. Moving Files The move command removes a file from the source directory and places it in the destination directory. If a file with the same name already exists in the destination directory, that file is overwritten by the moved file.
