Configuring iSCSI Chapter 42 Configuring iSCSI Send documentation comments to [email protected] About iSCSI Configuration Limits iSCSI configuration has the following limits: • The maximum number of iSCSI and iSLB initiators supported in a fabric is 2000. • The maximum number of iSCSI and iSLB sessions supported by an IPS port in either transparent or proxy initiator mode is 500. • The maximum number of iSCSI and iSLB session support by switch is 5000. • The maximum number of iSCSI and iSLB targets supported in a fabric is 6000. Configuring iSCSI This section describes how to configure iSCSI on the Cisco MDS 9000 Family switches. By default, this feature is disabled in all switches in the Cisco MDS 9000 Family. To enable iSCSI on any participating switch, follow these steps: Step 1 Step 2 Command switch# config t switch(config)# iscsi enable switch(config)# iscsi enable module switch(config)# no iscsi enable module switch(config)# no iscsi enable Purpose Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Enables iSCSI on that switch. Enables iSCSI modules on the switch. Note New command added so that SME and iSCSI are available on the same switch.
