is a single-phase unit that branches out into four single-phase branch circuits. The power strips mount directly to the rear of the rack frame and plug into the control units. Each HP Cluster Platform rack has up to four modular PDUs. For Cluster Platform racks with server blades there may be up to eight modular PDUs in the rack. Each control unit has four outlet receptacles. However, all four outlet receptacles might not be in use simultaneously because the total capacity of each PDU cannot exceed 40A for PDU models shipped to the US and Japan or exceed 32A for international PDU models. Installation screws and cage nuts secure the PDU to the side of the rack column, adjacent to the racks's side panel for servicing 2. The rack's front left column 3. Main inlet power cable, which is connected to the power supply 4. Outlet power cables (up to 4) that connect to the power strips (see Figure 2-33) 5. Connector shield, providing support for the outlet power cables 6. PDU main breaker switch 7. Individual breaker switches (four) 8. Direction of view towards the rear of the rack Note that the orientation and the hardware will be different for a 1U PDU installation.
