Installing Hardware Options Removing the PCI Riser Board Assembly To remove the PCI riser board assembly: CAUTION: To avoid damaging the system or expansion boards, remove all AC power cords before installing or removing an expansion board. When the front panel power switch is in the Off position, auxiliary power is still connected to the PCI expansion slot and may damage the card. 1. Access internal server components. Refer to the "Accessing Internal Server Components" section earlier in this chapter. 2. Disconnect any cables leading from any existing expansion board in the system board. 3. Loosen the PCI riser board thumbscrew (1). 4. Lift the assembly from the server chassis (2). Installing Hardware Options
Removing the PCI Riser Board Assembly
To remove the PCI riser board assembly:
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging the system or expansion boards, remove all AC
power cords before installing or removing an expansion board. When the front panel
power switch is in the Off position, auxiliary power is still connected to the PCI
expansion slot and may damage the card.
1.
Access internal server components. Refer to the “Accessing Internal Server
Components” section earlier in this chapter.
2.
Disconnect any cables leading from any existing expansion board in the system
board.
3.
Loosen the PCI riser board thumbscrew (1).
4.
Lift the assembly from the server chassis (2).
