Managing Your Prints Avoiding Media Waste by Nesting Pages Getting the Best from Nesting (Nesting and Margins) Right Margin Shift The printer may reduce the right margin of the right-most page by up to 3 mm (0.08 in). This is done only if: s the Size option in the Page format menu is set either to a Photo option or to a discrete standard size, and s the roll of media loaded is slightly narrower than a standard size. NOTE:If you select Smaller Margins with PostScript files, the printer uses the Normal margin settings. The HP PostScript drivers always use Extended margins and override the front-panel settings. Setting the space in between nested pages (nest spacing) Another option you have to get the most from nesting is to change the size of the gaps between the pages printed onto the media (nest spacing). In the example shown below, the nest spacing is set to 30mm. Direction of paper flow Nest spacing 30 mm. But by changing the nest spacing to 15mm you are able to print all four pages onto the same line, allowing more efficient use of the media. Direction of paper flow Nest spacing 15 mm 7-16
