Shut down the computer before removing the hard drive from the hard drive bay. Do not remove the hard drive while the computer is on, in Standby, or in Hibernation. If you are not sure whether the computer is in Hibernation, turn the computer on, then shut it down. If the computer is running a retail version of a Windows operating system, shut down the computer before removing any drive. 1. Save your work. 2. Shut down the computer and close the display. 3. Turn the computer bottom side up. 4. Remove the #1 Phillips screws securing the drive. 5. Firmly grasp the hard drive bezel and slide the drive from the connector. 6.
