Restoring an Identity To restore an identity: 1. Select Start > All Programs > HP ProtectTools Security Manager. 2. In the left pane, click Credential Manager. 3. In the right pane, click Restore Identity. 4. On the "Device Type" page, select the device type where the backup is stored, and then click Next. NOTE You will need to know the password or PIN for the device you select for the backup file. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions, and then click Finish. 6. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box. Clearing an identity from the system NOTE This does not affect your Windows user account. 1. Select Start > All Programs > HP ProtectTools Security Manager. 2. In the left pane, click Credential Manager. 3. In the right pane, click Clear Identity for this Account. 4. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box. Restoring an Identity
To restore an identity:
1.
Select
Start > All Programs > HP ProtectTools Security Manager
.
2.
In the left pane, click
Credential Manager
.
3.
In the right pane, click
Restore Identity
.
4.
On the “Device Type” page, select the device type where the backup is stored, and then click
Next
.
NOTE
You will need to know the password or PIN for the device you select for the backup
file.
5.
Follow the on-screen instructions, and then click
Finish
.
6.
Click
Yes
in the confirmation dialog box.
Clearing an identity from the system
NOTE
This does not affect your Windows user account.
