3. Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet. 4. Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface. 5. Remove the battery from the computer. NOTE: For more information, refer to the section Inserting or removing the battery on page 29. 6. Remove the hard drive cover: a. Slide the battery release latch (1) to loosen the hard drive cover. b. Pull away the hard drive cover (2). 7. If you are replacing a memory module, remove the existing memory module: a. Pull away the retention clips (1) on each side of the memory module. The memory module tilts up. 34 Chapter 5 Maintenance

Remove the hard drive cover:
a.
Slide the battery release latch

to loosen the hard drive cover.

Pull away the hard drive cover

If you are replacing a memory module, remove the existing memory module:

Pull away the retention clips

on each side of the memory module.
The memory module tilts up.
