Enabling or disabling DHCP To enable or disable this feature: 1. Log in with the following default values: • username admin • password password 2. Issue the ipaddrset command. Using External DHCP to set the Ethernet IP address NOTE: This procedure applies to c-Class only. To set the Ethernet IP address via DHCP: 1. Connect to the active OA via a web browser. 2. Document the DHCP-assigned address by selecting the switch from the GUI Rack Overview window. 3. Verify the IP address using a telnet or ssh login to the switch, or by selecting the switch in the OA GUI Rack Overview window. NOTE: This procedure applies to p-Class only. The HP p-Class BladeSystem architecture provides Ethernet (iLO) access to embedded SAN switches only through an external RJ45 connector on the switch; configuration is then similar to that for an external SAN switch. If the DHCP feature is enabled and a connection (Ethernet cable) exists from the p-Class SAN switch to an Ethernet network where a DHCP service is active, the switch should request and obtain an IP address automatically. Additional enhancements General enhancements include: • The tstimezone command providing flexibility via an interactive way to support a new Daylight Saving Time, based on country and region. • The number of user accounts increased from 15 to 256. • Zoning database size increased from 256 KB to 1 MB. • Long distance mode simplification: • LD is a dynamic distance mode that automatically discovers lengths and assigns the correct amount of buffer credits with an Extended Fabrics license. • LS is a static distance mode that allows you to specify the number of buffer credits required with an Extended Fabrics License. • LE supports up to 10 kilometers at any speed and does not require an Extended Fabrics license. Prerequisites Table 1 summarizes current Fabric OS firmware versions. These are the earliest recommended software versions that work together. However, HP recommends using the latest supported firmware release versions to get the greatest benefit from the SAN. HP StorageWorks Fabric OS 5.2.1b release notes 7
