Setting your SIM card PIN Phone settings A personal identification number (PIN) is delivered with your SIM card to protect your phone data. If you enable SIM card lock, you must enter the PIN each time you turn on your phone. Before you perform the following operations, make sure you have obtained your SIM card PIN from your carrier. 1 On the home screen, touch Settings. 2 Under All, touch Security. 3 Touch Set up SIM card lock. If your phone has dual SIM support, touch Set Card 1/Card 2 lock. 4 Touch Lock SIM card. If your phone has dual SIM support, you can set individual PINs for each SIM. 5 Enter your PIN, and then touch OK. 6 Touch Change SIM PIN to change the PIN. There is usually a limit to the number of unsuccessful PIN code attempts. If this limit is reached, you must enter a Personal Unblocking Key (PUK), which can be obtained from your carrier. There is also a limit to the number of unsuccessful PUK code attempts. If this limit is reached, your SIM card will be permanently disabled. For details about these limits, contact your carrier.
