Replacing the ink blotter strips Two ink blotter strips in the scanner collect ink overflow. These strips should be replaced as necessary. To order additional ink blotter strips, refer to Appendix B, Supplies and Accessories. NOTE: Improperly aligned blotter strips may cause paper jams. 1. Power down the scanner. 2. Disconnect the power cord. 3. Remove any documents from the feeder area. 4. Lift up the scanner door release to unlatch the scanner door. 5. Pull up to open the scanner door. 6. Locate the two ink blotter strips in the rear of the transport area. 7. Grasp a blotter strip and carefully pull it off. 8. Discard the soiled strip. 9. Remove the other blotter strip and discard it. 1.
Power down the scanner.
2.
Disconnect the power cord.
3.
Remove any documents from the feeder area.
4.
Lift up the scanner door release to unlatch the scanner door.
5.
Pull up to open the scanner door.
6.
Locate the two ink blotter strips in the rear of the transport area.
7.
Grasp a blotter strip and carefully pull it off.
8.
Discard the soiled strip.
9.
Remove the other blotter strip and discard it.
