Socket wrench storage 1 1. Wrench holder 2. Socket wrench 2 Press the shaft lock to lock the spindle and use the socket wrench to loosen the hex bolt clockwise. When using the socket wrench, pull it out of the wrench holder. After using the socket wrench, return it to the wrench holder. Installing or removing saw blade CAUTION: • Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before installing or removing the blade. • Use only the Makita socket wrench provided to install or remove the blade. Failure to do so may result in overtightening or insufficient tightening of the hex bolt. This could cause an injury. Lock the handle in the raised position by pushing in the stopper pin. 1 1. Stopper pin 009483 To remove the blade, use the socket wrench to loosen the hex bolt holding the center cover by turning it counterclockwise. Raise the blade guard and center cover. 1. Blade guard 3 009498 NOTE: • When inner flange is removed mistakenly, be sure to install it on the spindle with its protrusion facing the spindle. • Before mounting the blade onto the spindle, always be sure that the correct ring for the arbor hole of the blade you intend to use is installed between the inner and outer flanges. To install the blade, mount it carefully onto the spindle, making sure that the direction of the arrow on the surface of the blade matches the direction of the arrow on the blade case. Install the outer flange and hex bolt, and then use the socket wrench to tighten the hex bolt (left-handed) securely counterclockwise while pressing the shaft lock. 1. Arrow 1 2 2. Arrow 3. Socket wrench storage

The socket wrench is stored as shown in the figure.
When using the socket wrench, pull it out of the wrench
holder. After using the socket wrench, return it to the
wrench holder.
Installing or removing saw blade
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and
unplugged before installing or removing the blade.
Use only the Makita socket wrench provided to
install or remove the blade. Failure to do so may
result in overtightening or insufficient tightening of
the hex bolt. This could cause an injury.
Lock the handle in the raised position by pushing in the
stopper pin.

To remove the blade, use the socket wrench to loosen
the hex bolt holding the center cover by turning it
counterclockwise. Raise the blade guard and center
cover.

Press the shaft lock to lock the spindle and use the
socket wrench to loosen the hex bolt clockwise. Then
remove the hex bolt, outer flange and blade.

NOTE:
When inner flange is removed mistakenly, be sure
to install it on the spindle with its protrusion facing
the spindle.
Before mounting the blade onto the spindle,
always be sure that the correct ring for the arbor
hole of the blade you intend to use is installed
between the inner and outer flanges.
To install the blade, mount it carefully onto the spindle,
making sure that the direction of the arrow on the
surface of the blade matches the direction of the arrow
on the blade case.
Install the outer flange and hex bolt, and then use the
socket wrench to tighten the hex bolt (left-handed)
securely counterclockwise while pressing the shaft lock.
