Shooting Options: The Shooting Menu G Metering Choose how the camera meters exposure. G Matrix (default setting) Camera sets exposure for entire frame. Recommended in most situations. q Center-weighted Camera meters entire frame but assigns greatest weight to subject in center of frame. Classic meter for portraits; preserves background details while letting lighting conditions at center of frame determine exposure. Can be used with focus lock (A 27) to meter off-center subjects. r Spot Camera meters area shown by circle in center of frame. Ensures that subject in metering target is correctly exposed even if background is much lighter or darker.
