Shooting Options: The Shooting Menu G AF Area Mode Use this option to determine where the camera focuses. When digital zoom is effect, the camera will focus on the subject in the center focus area regardless of the applied [AF area mode] option. z Face priority The camera automatically detects and focuses on a face looking toward the camera (Shooting with Face-Priority → A 106). When shooting pictures of subjects other than people, or framing a subject with which no face is recognized, [AF area mode] will be set to [Auto]. The camera chooses the focus area (one of nine) containing the subject F 1/125 F4.3 17 closest to the camera and focuses on the subject. When the monitor has been turned off, the camera Focus area focuses using only the center focus area. w Auto (default setting) Camera automatically selects the focus area (one of nine) containing the subject closest to the camera. AF Area Mode
Use this option to determine where the camera focuses.
When digital zoom is effect, the camera will focus on the subject in the center
