Basic Camera Setup: The Setup Menu h AF Assist Change settings for AF-assist illumination. Auto (default setting) The AF-assist illumination automatically turns on when the subject is poorly lit. The illuminator has a range of about 1.9 m (6.3 ft.) at the maximum wide-angle position and 1.1 m (3.6 ft.) at the maximum telescopic position. However, the AF-assist illumination will not turn on in some scene modes even if AUTO is selected (A 34, 35, 36, 37, 38). Off Disable this function. The camera may be unable to focus if lighting is poor. u Digital Zoom Adjust settings for using digital zoom. On (default setting) Digital zoom (A 23) will be activated when the g (i) is pressed when the optical zoom has been magnified to its maximum rate. When digital zoom is in effect,
