Troubleshooting Shooting Problem Cause/Solution A No picture taken when shutter- • When camera is in playback mode, press c 26 release button is pressed. or the shutter-release button. • When menus are displayed, press d. 10 • Battery is exhausted. 20 • When flash lamp blinks, flash is charging. 29 Camera cannot focus. • The intended subject is one with which 25 autofocus does not perform well. • Set AF assist in the setup menu to Auto. 124 • Focus error. Turn camera off and then on 20 again. Pictures are blurred. Bright specks appear in pictures taken with flash. Flash does not fire. Optical zoom cannot be used. • Use flash. • Use Vibration reduction. • Use D (Best Shot Selector). • Use tripod and self-timer. Flash is reflecting off particles in air. Turn flash off. • Flash is off. • Some scene modes that cannot turn on flash are selected. • The mode is set to the food mode. • D modes other than Time-lapse movieP is selected. • Continuous, Multi-shot 16 or BSS is selected for Continuous.
