New AF-Area Modes: "Wide-Area AF (C1)" and "Wide-Area AF (C2)" [Wide-area AF (C1)] and [Wide-area AF (C2)] options have been added to the AF-area modes available with autofocus (Reference Guide, 0 113). Use these options to define custom AF-area sizes, with heights and widths measured in focus points. Choosing Custom AF-Area Sizes After selecting [Wide-area AF (C1)] or [Widearea AF (C2)] for [AF-area mode] in the photo shooting menu, you can choose the dimensions of the focus areas used for the selected AF-area during still photography. Use 1 and 3 to choose the height and 4 and 2 to choose the width.
