High-Speed Capture Options Pre- and post-release burst options can be adjusted using the newly-added Custom Setting d4 [C30/C120 options]. Option [Pre-release burst] Description Choose how many of the last frames in the buffer are recorded when the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down: [None] or [0.3 s], [0.5 s], or [1 s] worth. • Choosing [None] disables pre-release burst recording. • If the interval between the shutter-release button being pressed halfway and its being pressed all the way down is shorter than the time selected, only the frames saved to the buffer while the button was pressed halfway will be recorded. [Post-release burst] Choose the maximum length of time the camera will continue to take pictures after the shutterrelease button is pressed all the way down: [1 s], [2 s], [3 s], or [Max.]. Shooting can continue for up to about 4 s when [Max.] is selected. • A Y icon appears in the shooting display when an option other than [None] is selected for [Pre-release burst]. While the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, a green dot (I) will appear in the icon to show that buffering is in progress. Pre-Release Burst 41
