Setting Up Setting file names For the pictures stored on the card, file names and folder names are automatically recorded by the camera. File and folder names are assigned as shown below, using a file number (0001-9999) and folder number (100-999), respectively. Folder name File name \ D C I M \ * * * O LY M P \ P m d d * * * * . J P G Folder number Month (1-C) File number (100-999) (0001-9999) 3 Day (01-31) Months January through September are expressed by the numbers 1 through 9, October by the letter A, November by B and December by C. This function can be set to [RESET] or [AUTO] to determine how to assign file and folder numbers. Select the more convenient setting to transfer pictures to a computer. RESET AUTO This resets the file and folder numbers each time a card is inserted into the camera. The file number returns to "0001" and the folder number returns to "100." This is useful for managing pictures on different cards. The file and folder numbers are assigned sequentially from the previous card. This prevents duplicate file names when managing multiple cards. This is useful for managing all of your pictures with sequential numbers. If the file number exceeds "9999," a new folder will be created and file numbering will begin again from "0001." If the file number reaches "9999" in a folder numbered "999," no further pictures can be taken, even if the card is not yet full. Replace the card with new one. 94

Setting file names
For the pictures stored on the card, file names and folder names are
automatically recorded by the camera. File and folder names are
assigned as shown below, using a file number (0001-9999) and folder
number (100-999), respectively.
This function can be set to [RESET] or [AUTO] to determine how to
assign file and folder numbers. Select the more convenient setting to
transfer pictures to a computer.
If the file number exceeds “9999,” a new folder will be created and file
numbering will begin again from “0001.”
If the file number reaches “9999” in a folder numbered “999,” no further
pictures can be taken, even if the card is not yet full. Replace the card with
new one.
RESET
This resets the file and folder numbers each time a card is inserted
into the camera. The file number returns to “0001” and the folder
number returns to “100.”
This is useful for managing pictures on
different cards.
AUTO
The file and folder numbers are assigned sequentially from the
previous card. This prevents duplicate file names when managing
multiple cards.
This is useful for managing all of your pictures
with sequential numbers.
