Adjusting picture brightness (exposure compensation) This function allows you to make fine changes to the exposure setting. You can adjust the exposure in the range of ±2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps. For the same reason, adjust toward - when taking dark subjects. • In some situations, you may get better results when the exposure that the camera sets is compensated (adjusted) manually. Note • If the flash is used, the image brightness (exposure) may differ from the intended brightness. • Exposure compensation cannot correct the image if the surroundings of the subject are extremely bright or dark. 47
